RCRA / CERCLA cleanup process
Under an existing IDIQ A/E contract with the Department of Transportation / Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) FSE completed site investigations at 12 FAA facilities in CT, MA, NY and NH in order to establish if a release to the environment of oil and/or hazardous materials had occurred over the operational history of the installations.

RCRA / CERCLA Cleanup Process
FSE completed comprehensive PA/SI activities at 4 Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) in New York and New Jersey. The sites ranged in size from 99 to 1,600 acres. The sites included a broad range of former uses: supply depot, military ocean terminal, missile site, proving ground, and a Fort. The sites were used over a large time period: 1895 to the 1970’s.

RCRA / CERCLA Cleanup Process
FSE conducted site assessments, operated multiple remedial systems and oversaw remedial design activities at an active RCRA TSD facility with a historic chlorinated solvent groundwater plume. Investigation and remediation of this geologically complex plume is complicated by its downgradient migration beneath active railroad tracks, an inactive water supply aqueduct and extensive wetlands.
Project Years: 2013-2015
